How to Maintain a Healthy Sleep Routine Over the Christmas Holidays: Top Tips

With the excitement of the holidays comes inevitable changes in your little one’s routine and sleep may take a knock. Here are some of my top tips:

🎄If your normal routine slips, don’t stress and adjust their naps or bedtime as needed. For example if they skip a nap, move bedtime earlier and remember to respond to their sleep cues. Once things settle down and you are back to your usual routine, things will fall back into place. It is such a magical time of year for little ones so enjoy it. It’s only a few days and the most important thing is you enjoy this time – we all deserve it!

🎄All the lights, decorations, presents, music, tv etc is like being at a sensory class all day! Having a slightly longer wind down time before naps & bedtime can help them unwind.

🎄Fresh air – it does the world of good for us and little ones to get outside for a walk or even play in the garden for a short while.
