Josh was now 2 years old and had never slept through the night . Until recently he was having up to 3 bottles a night of milk to settle him back down to sleep . Mum and Dad had started some sleep training themselves and reduced the bottles but had got stuck with one still and two hourly wakings with them having to give a cuddle and put his dummy back in.
With some sleep training help from the Babyguru Josh the first night settled with no fuss at bedtime , which in the past had also been a battle and then woke as predicted late evening . With a bit of a moan after just 20 mins Josh returned to his bed with very little persuasion found his own dummy and went back to sleep on his own . The second wakeup required no support and after just 8 mins he went back to bed alone and went back to sleep . The third wake up at 5 am we were ready for an early wake up but again with just a reminder that it was too early josh went back to bed and self settled and slept until 6.30 am .
On night two Josh again settled really well at bedtime and proceeded to wake only twice in the night both times settling himself after very little fuss . sleeping through until 6.15 am. This was a massive improvement and mum and dad gave josh lots of praise on waking . This gave mum and dad real encouragement to continue with the plan and look forward to a better nights sleep for all.
Sleep training takes consistency and resolve that you are not going back to the old habits . Babies and children all take different lengths of time to respond but with the right sleep training method for your little one a solution can be found and a better nights sleep for all can be achieved
